Iraq's away game with Saudi will be played in KSA

Iraq's World Cup Qualifying match with the Saudis will now be played in Saudi Arabia following a decision by CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport). The game was originally meant to be held at a neutral venue after Iraq's home game with the Saudis was moved to Malaysia after the Saudis refused to play in Iraq's normal home venue of Tehran.

Iraqi trio move to new clubs and Adnan could follow

Saad Abdul-Amir (pictured) has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Saudi champions Al-Ahli, while winger Ahmed Yasin has moved to Qatari club Muaither SC on a four month loan from Swedish side AIK. Meanwhile, striker Mohanad Abdul-Raheem has returned to Iraqi side Al-Zawraa following Emirati club Al-Nasr's decision to release him. There are also rumours that Ali Adnan will be sold by Udinese, with clubs like Besiktas, Palermo and Lille reportedly interested.

FIFA will soon deploy a panel of experts to review the security and safety situation and inspect facilities in Erbil, Basra and Karbalaa to see if they will be able to host international games in the future. The Lebanese, Syrian, Emirati, Palestinian, Jordanian and Omani FAs have all expressed willingness to play friendlies in Iraq.
